Every 14th January is YDPB Negeri Sembilan’s Birthday. It is a public holiday for Negeri Sembilan. All states in Malaysia are having a hereditary monarch known as “Sultan”, except Negeri Sembilan is having Yang Di-Pertuan Besar (YDPB) instead. Unlike Sultan, YDPB is selected by a council with a set of guidelines when the current one passed away.
