Deepavali also called as Diwali or Divali. It is a festival of lights and is a public holiday for all states except Sarawak. This is one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus.
In the early morning, Hindus would perform a ritual oil bath which is meant to wash away one’s past sins. Prayers would be held in home or local temple afterwards. Once prayers are finished, Hindus often having open houses where family and friends are invited to join, enjoy snacks or meals and celebrate the Deepavali together.
